A woman sitting on the A train snapped at a fellow subway rider, apparently bothered that she was leaning on her, then attacked her when she began recording her on her cellphone, police said.
The woman is being sought by police in the attack on the southbound A train near Prospect Heights just after 9 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 9.
Police said the suspect told the 30-year-old woman sitting next to her to stop leaning on her, and when the seated neighbor began to record the woman on her cellphone, the woman punched and scratched her face and arm, police said.
The victim left the train and her alleged attacker stayed on the train, police said. The victim turned down medical attention.
The suspect, pictured above, is described as about 25 years old, 5 feet 2 inches tall and 120 pounds.
This was the second time in as many weeks that police have announced an investigation into a subway rider attacking a fellow straphanger over personal space. Last week, the NYPD said it was looking for a woman who scratched and bit another rider on the F train in Queens when she was asked to move her bag from a seat.
