A woman allegedly drunk or high on drugs hopped a curb and crashed into a cargo building at JFK Airport, hitting a members of the National Guard posted there, authorities say.
Port Authority Police say 30-year-old Tanya Hernandez hit Building 111 at the airport around 8:15 a.m. Wednesday, shattering the glass front of the building. She hit the National Guard member stationed at the building, injuring the man's leg and hand.
When police arrested Hernandez, she allegedly told officers she had been drinking all night. A small quantity of suspected controlled substance was found in the vehicle, authorities say. Hernandez suffered minor injuries.
She was charged with assault, DWI, criminal mischief and criminal possession of a controlled substance. Police say she has two previous driver's license suspensions.
It wasn't immediately clear if she had an attorney who could comment on the allegations.
