A man was stabbed and robbed after an argument over the weekend in Queens, officials say, and the victim was not telling the truth about the attack being linked to a notoriously dangerous gang, police say.
Three men stabbed the victim in the back around 8 p.m. Saturday and stole $600 from him on the sidewalk in Jackson Heights, authorities said.
The victim originally told police the trio chanted “MS-13” during the attack, but video evidence obtained by authorities contradicted that statement, police say.
The video shows the victim was with the three suspects before he was attacked, police said. The suspects and the victim had gotten into an argument prior to the man being stabbed, authorities said.
Paramedics took the victim to Elmhurst General Hospital, where he is in stable condition, police said.
No arrests have been made.
