A 24-year-old Dutch tourist was found dead on the subway tracks in an East Village station Thursday, and authorities say they are investigating his death as suspicious.
Max Van Bremem, of the Netherlands, was found on the tracks in the Third Avenue and East 14th Street station shortly before 5 a.m. Police said he had trauma to his body, though it's not clear what caused it.
Bremem was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say they are trying to track his whereabouts in the hours leading up to his death. They are not releasing where he was staying in the city.
