A pedestrian was badly hurt when a taxi jumped a curb and smashed into a midtown building Monday, authorities say.
Fire officials say the cab jumped the curb on 59th Street near Madison Avenue shortly before 11:30 a.m.
Authorities said the man was taken to a hospital in serious condition; he is expected to survive.
The Taxi and Limousine Commission said it had "no specifics at this time."
The cab is owned by Style Management Co. in Manhattan, which had no comment.
