It was the sucker punch heard 'round the TV reality world.
And the fallout's been painful for the former Long Island teacher who decked "Jersey Shore" star Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, according to Sunday's New York Post.
After throwing that infamous punch, Brad Ferro lost his job as a teacher, had to join the Army and is "owed" by Jersey Shore for all the publicity he's brought the show, his father told the paper.
"My son made them famous," Ferro's father, Dan, told the Post. "They made a lot of money off of him, and I think they owe him."
Ferro punched Snooki after she accused him of stealing drinks at a Jersey Shore bar. MTV released footage of the shot but edited it from Season 1, said the paper.
When the episode aired in December 2009, the 25-year-old Ferro was fired from teaching gym at a Queens high school, pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor assault charge and served six months probation, the paper reported.
Ferro had trouble finding another job, so he joined the Army. He left for basic training in Fort Knox, Ky, last month, the paper said.
