As anger over the Michael Brown case in Ferguson persists, protesters took to the streets of Harlem Saturday to voice their concerns about the pending grand jury decision in the Eric Garner death.
Gwen Carr, Garner's mother, joined the rally outside a police precinct and voiced her anxiety about the case.
"We don't know what the outcome is, but we're praying. We're still praying," she said.
The Rev. Al Sharpton, who hosts a show on MSNBC, repeated his call for an indictment of Officer Daniel Pantaleo, who was involved in a July 17 confrontation with Garner in Staten Island.
"Can we show in New York something different," he said, referring to the Brown case. "We're not going to have violence, but we want justice."
Pantaleo and other NYPD officers stopped Garner on suspicion of selling loose, untaxed cigarettes. A video shot by an onlooker shows the 43-year-old Garner refusing to be handcuffed.
Pantaleo is seen in the video placing Garner in an apparent chokehold, which is banned by NYPD policy.

A grand jury began investigating Garner's death in September and, according to news reports, has heard testimony from the final witness in the case.
