Three people were injured when a Port Authority police cruiser smashed an SUV into a lamp post in Manhattan Monday evening, the FDNY says.
The cruiser crashed into the SUV, which in turn smashed into the post, on the corner of East 24th Street and Third Avenue in Gramercy at about 9 p.m., according to the FDNY.
It's not clear what caused the crash.
The injured included a police officer. All were taken to Bellevue Hospital, where they were listed in serious but stable condition with minor injuries, according to the FDNY.
Third Avenue between 23rd and 25th streets was closed off as police investigated.
