A delivery truck fire brought pedestrian and motor vehicle traffic to a standstill outside Penn Station during Wednesday's morning rush, sending clouds of smoke billowing into the air around the busy transit hub.
Video posted to social media shows searing flames leaping from the cab of the green truck outside a McDonald's near 34th Street and Eighth Avenue.
Fire officials said they were called to the scene shortly after 7:45 a.m. There was no immediate word on any injuries.
Traffic delays were reported in the area. Some subway changes were implemented briefly, but service was restored within about 10 minutes.
