PATH service in and out of the World Trade Center station has resumed after the station and Oculus were evacuated Sunday afternoon due to a suspicious package, authorities said.
Port Authority police said they were checking an unattended package in the rail car, which was later cleared.
The bomb squad found an unattended backpack with vitamins and clothing inside.
A K-9 dog mistakenly got a positive hit of possible bomb materials inside a car at the PATH station, sources said. The train had arrived from Newark.
Earlier, the agency asked passengers to avoid the World Trade Center station and for customers to transfer at Grove Street for service into New York City.
