One person was hurt after a yellow cab jumped a curb in midtown Tuesday morning and slammed into a bus stop shelter, fire officials say.
The cab crashed on Madison Avenue between East 33rd and 34th streets around 7:45 a.m., according to the FDNY. At least one other vehicle was involved, the FDNY says, but it’s not clear how that vehicle was impacted.
A man was transported to an area hospital in unknown condition, but officials say he is expected to survive.
Images from the scene show the taxi partially on the sidewalk with the front of the vehicle plowed through the side of the bus shelter. Glass and debris is strewn about the sidewalk.
It’s not clear if anyone was injured in the crash. No ambulances or other emergency vehicles were at the scene as of 8:30 a.m.
