A truck driver was thrown from his tractor-trailer and killed when he crashed into a UPS tractor-trailer and a dump truck on the New Jersey Turnpike Tuesday morning, police say.
The three-truck crash caused huge delays as authorities responded to the scene in Newark, near mile marker 104 on the northbound side of the highway.
The first driver was ejected and pronounced dead on the scene.
The UPS truck driver was evaluated at the scene, and the driver of the third truck wasn't injured.
Three lanes were closed for five hours as emergency responders attended to the scene. All lanes have since reopened.
