NYPD Offering Reward in Shooting Death of Rapper Chinx

Police are asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect in the shooting death of Lionel Pickens, a rapper best known by his stage name Chinx.

Pickens, 31, was killed in a May 17 shooting in Queens, according to the NYPD. Police are now offering a $2,500 reward for information that leads to an arrest in connection to his death.

Pickens and another man were inside a parked Porsche around 4 a.m. on Queens Boulevard and 84th Drive in Briarwood when another car that pulled up along side them, police said. Pickens got out of the car and gunfire erupted.

Both of the men were shot multiple times. Pickens was pronounced dead on arrival at Jamaica Hospital, officials said. The other victim, who is 27, was hospitalized in critical condition. His identity has not been released.

Pickens, who grew up in Far Rockaway, was a member of French Montana's Coke Boys group and record label. His management team and publicist issued a statement on the Legion Media Group’s Instagram:
