A New Jersey man has been charged in a fatal crash that happened last month in Brooklyn.
The crash happened Dec. 28 at the intersection of Bay Parkway and Bath Avenue in Bath Beach, police say.
Officers say they responded to a call of a pedestrian struck and found 27-year-old Raul Leone-Vasquez suffering from an apparent head trauma. The driver, 60-year-old Simcha Rosemblatt, stayed on scene and was taken into custody, police say.
Preliminary investigation determined Leone-Vasquez was trying to cross Bay Parkway when he was struck by the 2011 Toyota Camry that Rosemblatt was driving south on Bay Parkway.
Rosemblatt is charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle and failure to exercise due care, according to police. It was not immediately clear if he had an attorney.
