A 20-year-old man was killed when the car he was driving collided with a county bus Monday on Long Island, police said.
Zachary Rauso was driving a 1999 Mercury southbound on Dare Road in Selden just before 6 p.m. when he crashed with a Suffolk Transit bus travelling northbound on Dare Road, Suffolk County police said.
Rauso was pronounced dead at the scene. The 52-year-old bus driver, Leonard Secaira, and the one passenger on the bus were taken to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Officials were investigating the bus and the Mercury was impounded for a safety check.
Detectives are investigating the cause of the crash. No charges have been filed.
