"Law & Order" director Jason "Jace" Alexander has been arrested on child pornography charges, according to police.

Alexander, 51, was arrested Wednesday in Westchester County and charged with one count of promoting a sexual performance by a child and one count of possessing an obscene sexual performance by a child, police said.

Officials allegedly found digital pornography files on computers and external hard drives at Alexander’s Dobbs Ferry home. The files showed children younger than 16 years of age engaged in child pornography, police said.

Alexander has directed nearly three dozen episodes of "Law and Order" since the mid-1990s. He is also known for his work on "Rescue Me" and "Carry Me Home." He and his wife have three children.
