Two flights landing at Kennedy Airport Wednesday hit a number of birds while touching down, officials say.
JetBlue Flight 1248 from Los Angeles reported a bird strike after landing at about 8:30 a.m., and Singapore Airlines Flight 26 from Frankfurt hit a flock of starlings mid-air while landing at about 10:30 a.m., according to the FAA.
No injuries were reported.
Bird strikes have become common at New York City's area airports in recent years but especially at JFK, which sits near wetland that serves as a habitat for migratory birds.
Lawmakers and officials have proposed a variety of ways to deal with bird strikes, which sometimes force emergency landings, including radars that track where birds fly and flock and a bird killing.
