Lisa Fiorenza and Doug Mangold of Staten Island had been planning their dream wedding for more than a year when the Brooklyn store where they ordered bridesmaid dresses closed without warning.
"It's something you wouldn't imagine happening. You trust a business to hold up their end of the deal," said Fiorenza.
Isabella's Wedding Center on Coney Island Avenue closed four months before Fiorenza and Mangold's wedding, and the seven bridesmaid dresses that were supposed to arrive by the end of December are still unaccounted for.
The couple tried calling the business several times before they visited the store and found the doors locked.
"It was a complete shock to look in and see there was nothing in the store -- completely gutted," said one of the bridesmaids, Karen, who paid $200 for her dress.
The new tenants who have taken over the space say several other jilted customers have been visiting, looking for their tuxes and dresses.
The owner of the shuttered shop, Isabella Gleyzer, could not be located by NBC 4 New York. Now the customers who are owed dresses are trying to get their money back through their credit card companies and are scrambling to find new outfits.

"It's not fair. She took people's money, just betrayed our trust," said Fiorenza.
