A raging blaze tore through what appeared to be several rowhouses in Weehawken Tuesday morning, spewing smoke through gaping holes in the shared roof as firefighters worked to douse the flames.
It wasn't immediately clear if anyone was hurt in the blaze on Ridgley Place. It broke out around 9:30 a.m. and appeared to be mostly contained within an hour.
Chopper 4 over the scene showed about a dozen firefighters standing on a rooftop, carefully moving around portions of it that appeared to have collapsed inward. Light smoke was still wafting out of the building.
Early, footage posted to social media showed firefighters battling leaping flames.
