Police are looking for the driver of a red BMW in connection with a hit-and-run that killed a 46-year-old bicyclist in Brooklyn Wednesday morning.
Police say Angel Torres was riding his bicycle at the intersection of Broadway and Halsey Street in Bushwick when the driver hit him before hitting two other vehicles.
A witness described a horrific scene and said it seemed like the driver was on the run.
"He was like trying to get away from somebody," said Jerome Sullivan. "He hit the guy and dragged him...and the guy rolled off the car and he kept going."
The driver then struck a parked car and turned south on Boylan Street, where he hit an SUV, police say. The driver then abandoned the crumpled BMW and fled on foot.
Torres was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the SUV, the last vehicle the driver hit, was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
The suspect was still at large Thursday morning, police say.
"It's just ridiculous the way he actually came back up and left the scene of another accident," said Tessa Rush, the sister of the SUV's driver.
