Police are looking for two men who robbed a Brooklyn man and his out-of-town friend at gunpoint in Central Park early Saturday.
Officials say the suspects approached the men near West 64th Street and West Drive and one robber pulled out a gun, demanding money from the 24- and 25-year-old victims, while the other took a briefcase, cash, cellphone, IDs and credit cards.
Tourists said news of the crime meant they would be more vigilant about safety but it would not keep them away from Central Park.
“I think the park is relatively safe,” said Sam Lohff, who was visiting from Maryland with his family. “It's just one of the things you have to factor in.”
