Despite a worldwide banking crisis, at least one financial institution will have a good view in 2009.
That's because German Bank WestLB signed a 15-year contract to lease about 129,000 square feet on the top three floors of the building, according to today's New York Times. The space offers some of the best views of lower Manhattan.
Mayor Michael Bloomberg made the announcement Thursday, along with Larry Silverstein, chairman and chief executive of the building's ownership group, Silverstein Properties.
The top floor of the 52-story building was the site of many major events in the city the last few years.
