One person is dead after being ejected from a vehicle during a crash on the Garden State Parkway in northern New Jersey, state police said.
The cause of the two-vehicle crash in Washington Township remains under investigation.
The crash occurred around 11 a.m. Sunday in a northbound lane near mile marker 168. The ejected person, whose name was not released, was flown to a hospital but died there a short time later.
It was not immediately clear if the person killed was a driver of one of the vehicles involved in the accident or a passenger. No other injuries were reported.
The accident and the subsequent investigation closed all but one lane of the highway in the area for several hours Sunday afternoon.
