Twelve people were injured after a fire tore through a Brooklyn building on Sunday, authorities said. 

The FDNY received a call about a fire at a four-story building at 693 Flatbush Ave., near Winthrop Street, in Prospect-Lefferts Gardens, around 2:46 p.m., the department said.

Twelve civilians were treated for non-life threatening injuries at the scene, the FDNY said. 

The fire broke out on the second and third floors of the building, according to the FDNY. The blaze was out but not under control as of around 3:45 p.m., the department said. 

Video taken at the scene shows firefighters helping a person climb down a ladder to escape the building.
