A fire broke out at a three-bedroom apartment complex building in the Bronx Sunday evening, authorities said.
The fire started in an apartment on the 10th floor of the building located on Webster Avenue, fire officials said.
The tenant was asleep when the blaze erupted, and he and his father ran out of the house without injuries.
Two cats that were living with them died in the fire, officials said.
Because the walls were fireproof, the flames didn't spread beyond the apartment.
Firefighters are investigating the cause, saying the fire started in one of the bedrooms.
