Police officers putting out a car fire Sunday discovered a dead man in the back of the vehicle, authorities said.
Police were called to the flaming car shortly before 6 a.m. on Webster Avenue in New Rochelle, according to the New Rochelle police.
After the fire was extinguished, they found the dead man in the back seat of the car, which was parked in a lot, police said.
Police did not immediately release the man's identity.
