Police have arrested a man in connection with a bank robbery and five attempted bank robberies last week in Manhattan.
Michael Sancinella, 42, was charged with six counts of robbery in connection with the robberies, the NYPD said.
Police say Sancinella, who was riding a bike, first tried to rob a bank on 5th Avenue around 9:30 a.m. Thursday, but was unsuccessful, police said.
He tried to rob another on Park Avenue just three minutes later, but was again unsuccessful, police said.
About 20 minutes later, he walked into a bank on First Avenue and was able to get away with $1,000 in cash.
On Friday, Sancinella tried to rob three other Manhattan banks between 9 and 10 a.m., but was unsuccessful each time, police said.
It wasn't known if Sancinella had an attorney.
