A car lost control and slammed into a store in the Bronx Sunday afternoon, seriously injuring two people, authorities said.

The car drove up onto the sidewalk and into Enrico's Pastry, a bakery at 1057 Morris Park Ave, at about 5 p.m.

The car struck two people, believed to be pedestrians, fire department officials said. They were taken to Jacobi Hospital, where they were listed in serious but stable condition Sunday evening.

According to witnesses, an elderly driver was attempting to back out of a parking spot in reverse when he some how accelerated and went over the curb and into the store.
