A man was struck by a cab as he crossed a Soho street Friday morning, and the driver said the sun was in his eyes.
Authorities said the victim was pinned under the cab after he was hit at Spring and Crosby streets.
The 30-year-old driver, in tears at the scene, told NBC 4 New York that he was so blinded by the sun that he was holding up a paper to shield his eyes as he turned onto Crosby Street.
"When I turn, this guy hits my front," said Kam Rahaman. "Then I brake and he just fall."
When the driver got out to check on the man, the victim's eyes were closed and he was bleeding.
The pedestrian was in stable condition, according to police.
