A Brooklyn man is hoping a well-known dating Web site will be no match for his legal team.
Sean McGinn filed a lawsuit against Match.com, accusing the site of "deceptive practices," according to Reuters.
McGinn alleges that while it surely is OK to look, Match.com misleads members hoping to connect with other members who lack paid subscriptions and thereby cannot reply, Reuters reported.
Match.com posts profiles of all members, including those who have the limited subscriptions. So what eventually appears to be rejection has apparently caused McGinn "humiliation and disappointment," according to the report.
The lawsuit suggests that Match should at the very least let a suitor know when he or she has sent a note to a sweetie who's unable to reply.
"Because the writer has no way of knowing this, he or she may experience profound personal anguish, suffering which is easily preventable by Match," according to the lawsuit cited by Reuters.
