A four-year-old Bronx boy drowned Sunday at a state park in Connecticut, authorities said.
The boy, whose identity wasn't disclosed by police, was pulled out of a swimming area at Burr Pond State Park in Torrington at about 4:45 p.m. and couldn't be revived by lifeguards, said a state official.
“We saw the paramedics when we got there, and then we saw the little boy when they took him out. And it was, you know, the saddest thing ever,” witness Lala Batista said, holding back tears.
The child was taken to Charlotte Hungerford Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
It was unclear whether the boy was wearing any type of flotation device.
