In the wake two attacks against senior citizens in Park Slope, Brooklyn, Borough President Eric Adams went to a senior center to educate elderly people about security.
Adams handed out pamphlets and spoke to elderly people in Park Slope about how to best prevent crime targeted at senior citizens.
“The best offense is a good defense,” Adams told NBC 4 New York after he spoke to a room full of seniors at the Park Slope Senior Center. “These simple tips help seniors not to feel powerless.”
A week ago, a 91-year-old woman was choked and robbed at gunpoint in the neighborhood. Police are still searching for her attacker, and a $2,500 reward has been offered for information leading to his arrest.
