Firefighters have knocked out a fire at a Park Avenue high-rise where some of Manhattan's richest families have lived.
The FDNY said it was called to 740 Park Ave., near 72nd Street, just before 3 p.m. for a report of a fire on the sixth floor.
It's not clear what sparked the blaze, but flames were quickly knocked out. Fire trucks and crews were still on the scene.
There was no immediate word of any injuries.
The Manhattan building has been dubbed "the world's richest apartment building," according to a book chronicling the history of the building and its wealthy residents over the years, including families of or connected to the Vanderbilts, the Rockefellers and the Chryslers.
Jackie Onassis' childhood apartment was also in the building, on the sixth and seventh floors, according to the New York Post. It was last listed for $44 million in 2014.
