A car crashed into a children's party center in the Bronx, seriously injuring three people Sunday, authorities said.
The car crashed into Baby Power Forever Kids on White Plains Road around 6:40 p.m., according to the FDNY. The impact ravaged the lower level of the building; a large hole and heaps of debris were visible from the sidewalk.
The driver of the car was a 61-year-old man who was coming from a Burger King parking lot, according to police. They said he lost control and drove straight into the party center.
Dozens of children were celebrating at a birthday party on the second floor of the building at the time. None of them were injured, police said.
Three people were taken to Montefiore Medical Center in serious condition. None of their injuries were life-threatening.
One of the victims was Juliet Anderson, the owner of the business. She was working downstairs when the car came careening through the front wall.
"I was sitting at my desk and the car took off half the desk, but not the side I was on," Anderson said.
Upstairs, people were singing and cutting a cake, according to Harriot Sutton, Anderson's aunt who was on the second floor at the time.

"We're sitting up here, we just hear a boom!" Sutton said. "The light is off, and smoke and things coming out. And we said, 'What happened?' Then we realized a guy ran into the building."
Police said the driver will likely be summoned.
