A man faces several drug charges after police say they found almost 3 pounds of cocaine hidden in a box of mangoes in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
Police tell the Connecticut Post that they received a tip that Enrique Pineiro, 61, had just received a large shipment of drugs.
When they went to his home Thursday, his girlfriend told the police that the only package he had gotten was a box of mangoes from Puerto Rico.
Police opened the box and found 2.8 pounds of prepackaged cocaine.
Pineiro is charged with possession of more than a kilogram of cocaine with intent to sell. He was freed after posting a $50,000 bond.
Attempts to reach him for comment Friday morning were not successful. A listed phone number was no longer in service.
