A 25-foot-long whale washed ashore a Long Island beach Monday morning.
The whale was found around 8:30 p.m. at Ocean Ridge on Fire Island, police said.
It wasn’t clear how the whale died and officials said there were no obvious signs of trauma.
The Riverhead Foundation for Marine Research and Preservation will be at the beach to investigate Tuesday morning.
