A $1,000 reward is being offered for the safe return of a stolen rabbit from an animal shelter in Manhattan.
Sunny is a 5-month old gray rabbit who was living with her sister, Honey, at Animal Care Centers of NYC shelter in East Harlem when a man took her, according to a report by The New York Times.
The thief went into the shelter on June 14 to adopt a dog, but was declined because he had two unneutered dogs at home, said the report. He got angry and took Sunny.
An outside group offered the $1,000 reward as it has been weeks since the theft and police have not made headway, the report said.
Stealing a rabbit is considered a petty larceny crime.
