At an intimate luncheon hosted by Victoria's Secret, supermodel (and angel) Adriana Lima gave us (along with a group of other bloggers) a behind-the-scenes take on what it's like to walk the Victoria's Secret runway in a two million-dollar brassiere. We also got up close and personal with the Damiani-designed "Bombshell Fantasy Bra," which we must admit, is rather spectacular in person.
This isn't her first time wearing an expensive bra, but the supermodel insists that it really is "comfortable." As she put it, "Everything is right in place ... It's perfect. I like a push-up bra." In this case, the bra in question will be a Miraculous Bra that features 3,000 white diamonds, in addition to sapphires and topaz stones -- taking a slew of craftsman more than a thousand hours of labor to complete.
As for any anxieties about getting her post-baby body back in shape for the big November 10 runway show (where Katy Perry and Akon will be performing)? "No, no, no," insisted Lima. "I've been doing this for 10 years. I've been working out, and taking care of my nutrition."
While everyone at the luncheon was very curious as to what models would be "wearing the wings" this year (since angels like Miranda Kerr are pregnant, we're anticipating some new blood), Victoria's Secret doesn't seem especially concerned about replacing recently retired head angel, Heidi Klum. We hear the label anticipates a new chief-of-angels will likely occur more organically.
One note-worthy absentee is the winner of last year's search for the new Victoria's Secret angel, Kylie Bisutti. We hear that she likely won't walk this year.
