Infamous LA consignment store, Decadestwo, has returned to New York this week with some seriously beautiful designer gear in a pop-up inside Kiki De Montparnasse. Recovering discount-aholics, beware: you may think you've beat "sample sale mania"...but a quilted Chanel handbag for $600 is sure to test even the steeliest resolves.
We suffered a major "Huh? Wha?" moment upon entering the sale to find a fold-out table cluttered with unworn Louboutin, Alaia, and YSL shoes, all ranging from $220 - $500. Barefoot attendees were wandering the space in a daze, slipping their piggies into whatever they could find like sale-drunk cinderellas. In back, a giant handbag table--featuring, among pieces by Marc Jacobs, Chanel, and Bottega Veneta, a spectacular ostrich YSL tote with gold hardware--was an additional 20 percent off, and thus, appropriately ravaged.
The real coup-de-grace, however, is the rack dedicated entirely to Alexander McQueen, with prices ranging from $500 (tanks, tops) to around $2500 (dresses and gowns). The McQueen inventory is extremely limited, so devotees should plan on getting there ... well, right now.
Visit the Decadestwo Pop-up at Kiki de Montparnasse, 79 Greene Street between Spring and Broome. Sale lasts through Sunday, March 21.
