Comedy great Betty White's appearance on "Saturday Night Live" earned ratings that lived up to the anticipation.
After all the hype, the choice of White paid off, with"SNL" earning its best rating in 18 months. Now NBC has released via Hulu three more sketches that didn't make Saturday's broadcast due to time constraints.
The move to get White a hosting gig on "SNL" began improbably enough around the time she starred in a Snickers commercial that debuted during this year's Super Bowl. Fans of White started a Facebook page demanding that she be offered a hosting gig.
White's appearance on the show coincided with Mother's Day, prompting "SNL" to bring back a host of its female alum, including Rachel Dratch, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler and Maya Rudolph.
The large number of special guests allowed the show's writers to keep the workload light for White, who, as talented as she is, is 88 years old.
