Not long ago, we were looking forward to the Bradley Cooper-Robert De Niro thriller "Dark Fields"? Well, the movie's now called "Limitless," and the trailer's arrived.
Remember "The Abstinence," the episode of "Seinfeld" when George abstains from sex and it allows to him to operate on an intellectual plane far higher than any normal man? In "Limitless," Cooper's character, a disheveled failing writer starts taking a pill that makes him that smart and lets him have sex--with Abby Cornish, among others.
Of course, the threat of running out of this drug begins to hang over Cooper's head, and a nefarious Robert De Niro starts growling about how it's nearly time for Cooper to pay the piper.
Here's the official synopsis:
Bradley Cooper and Robert De Niro star in Limitless, a paranoia-fueled action thriller about an unpublished writer whose life is transformed by a top-secret smart drug that allows him to use 100% of his brain and become a perfect version of himself. His enhanced abilities soon attract shadowy forces that threaten his new life in this darkly comic and provocative film.
"Limitless" was directed by Neil Burger, whose 2006 thriller "The Illusionist" we enjoyed, by the script is by Leslie Dixon, the woman who penned the unforgivably bad "Pay It Forward."
We don't love the trailer, but it's not a disaster. We'll see...
