A few months ago, Spin gathered together a number of young artists to cover songs from Nirvana's generation defining album Nevermind.
One of the best cuts was New York alt-cabaret dynamo Amanda Palmer's cover of "Polly." Check it out here.
Palmer swapped out the guitar for ukulele, but it was no less haunting than the original. Which shouldn't be too much of a surprise, because from Radiohead to Michael Jackson, Palmer knows her way around a cover.
Now Palmer has released a video for "Polly," and is offering a new mix of songs through her website via a pay-what-you wish rate.
She has also announced that the musicians that joined her on the cover, multi-instrumentalists Chad Raines and Michael McQuilken, along with bassist Jherek Bischoff, will be joining Palmer for new recording and touring project called "Amanda Palmer & The Grand Theft Orchestra."
