Welcome, friends, to 2009, where sweatpants are the new dress pants. (Or at least, the new premium jeans.) Designers have latched onto the look Alexander Wang put on the runway two seasons ago, updating the comfy garment with fancy versions for spring 2010. Sweatpants-loving labels ranging from Wang to DKNY to office wear king Elie Tahari. Band of Outsiders and Generra also showed styles for men.
So heading to the disco? Having dinner with your significant other's parents? Doing some weekend shopping? Embrace the sweatpants — they're one of spring's most versatile garments.
