To be able to walk the red carpet at the Tribeca Film Festival, a score of talented and driven New York City teens had to pound a lot of pavement. They created a short group film depicting all five boroughs of the city they call home in order to make it to the festival.

These youngsters are among 20 participants in the Tribeca Film Fellows program -- now in it's 6th year. During the festival, the budding filmmakers get an all-access look at the film industry through a series of screenings, panels, workshops and special events.
"They apply from high schools all over the city," said Lisa Lucas, the director of education for the Tribeca Film Institute.
"We're trying to get a feel for New York, the people, the landscape," said Ethan Greenfield who is from the Bronx.
"My favorite part is getting to meet people, like a writer on "The Jimmy Fallon Show," said Negesti Cantave of Brooklyn.
Their film, "Cityscapes", premieres at the festival and serves as the introduction to "Our City, My Story", the Tribeca Film Institute's showing of New York City youth-made film and video.
The film fellows also compete for four $1500 scholarships awarded to help further their studies.
